“Imagine if the public school system worked for us all?”

What We Stand For

The number one priority is to ensure that our children and youth are safe to get the best public school education possible – and ideally bake in choice to help both meet their needs and interests.

The teachers and staff in each school must proper tools to ensure that they are able to do their jobs safely and effectively; they also should feel safe to bring their full self to work. If even our teachers do not feel safe, how could we possibly expect our children to feel safe?

My platform is designed to improve safety of all within education and improve governance and transparency for the community.  Key aspects:

  • Address incidents across the school board that reflect safety concerns including bullying, harassment, sexploiltation and on line cyber security issues
  • Implement all 27 points of the anti-black racism report. In addition, develop a broader data driven approach to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Improve governance transparency and accountability to address safety and education requirements, incidents, actions and reporting from the schools through the school board to the ministry and vice versa
  • Have clear accountabilities for schools, students, parents with a zero tolerance policy for addressing safety related incidents
  • Implement effective School board supplied technology needs to have effectives security and use monitoring to address on line cyber threats

What is a Trustee?

School trustees are responsible to help…

Establish policies

Set budgets and allocate resources

Formulate plans and set priorities

Support and monitor student achievement and well-being

Collaborate with all levels of government

A trustee should be willing to take the first step forward in creating a better future for our children and everyone else.

Building A Better Future

As someone who owes a lot to our school system, it hurts to say that it needs to be changed. The times have changed and we can no longer try to solve our problems the way we used to.

Social media and technology now play a major role in our lives. This is especially true for our children.

By talking to many concerned parents, teachers and even students it is evident that some change needs to happen. Paul Skippen has had enough and looks to change how the school board looks at digital security and how our children are being protected.

We need to take a better look at our school system and together create a better future.

Make a Difference

The future is broken and it is up to us to rebuild it. The school system is failing. Our children are being put at risk as new technologies like AI, Blockchain and Metaverse begin to emerge. The unknowns of technology bring lots of risk. We have an opportunity to take advantage of these technologies however it must be done right.

Paul Skippen hopes to reimagine a school system that works. Paul has plans to fix the schools professional management – systemically – which will lead to a cost efficient and effective system that works for all.

Paul Skippen intends to have a Re-Imagined solution. Designed together. Which meets the needs of today, tomorrow and our future.

What You Stand to Gain

“The trustee is also responsible to the rate payer. The Board employees. The students. The parents. There is not an endless supply of tax dollars, so the school board must be fiscally prudent.  We should also engage a creative community hub to help bring additional services to meet the broader communities needs.  And affordable housing is a top priority, as it makes sense we should explore creative options with our real estate portfolio to help improve the school system for all.”
